Currently, Slashing Edge consists of two people, who work independently on commissions.
We are both college students taking A levels, so for both of us this organization serves as a source of income to support our educations.
Hopefully Slashing Edge will take on more people as we gain customers.
This is who we are...
Slashing Edge was Owain's idea, and he releases all his work under the SE name. If anything on this site is written in first person, assume it's Owain talking.
Owain has been learning the secrets of programming and web design since he was 10 years old, and can churn out websites in a timely manner.
He is currently planning to study Artificial Intelligence & Robotics at degree-level and spends some of his free time experimenting with augmented reality projects. He is also a hobbyist Photographer hoping to one day get a front-cover photograph for a magazine like National Geographic.
When it comes to web design & development, he knows his way around CSS, XHTML, Javascript, server-side scripting (PHP, Python) and databases - with a box of design tricks he has learnt over the years. He is also keen to stay in touch with the latest web design trends: CSS3, AJAX, and a whole host of other acronyms which don't really mean much. Most importantly, he's always learning new things.
This is Jed. Maintainer of Servers, Destroyer of Worlds, king of AutoIt.
Jed's specialty is writing enterprise software for small to mid-range institutions - such as his own college. He also does penetration testing and security auditing: in a nutshell, he breaks things for us to fix.
Luckily, also being an avid crypto and security nut, he can help us make those things secure for us again.
Doing a BTEC computing course he is also learning quickly how to set up efficient networks for said enterprises - focusing on the layout of hardware and so forth.
He is the hardware man, and this is his costume.
